Are you travelling across state lines? Look into Reciprocity

Reciprocity occurs when one state that has a medical marijuana program, like New Jersey, recognizes the medical marijuana cards and certifications from another state, like Pennsylvania. 

That means your PA Medical Marijuana card will grant you some rights in those states as well. This could be either in the form of recognizing your right to use medical cannabis, or you may get full access to that state's medical marijuana program when you visit, including buying from a dispensary in that state. 

Even if you have the right to access medical marijuana, every state has different laws and regulations governing the legal use and possession of medical marijuana, so it's important to make sure you visit the appropriate state websites to get the most up-to-date information of what you are allowed to do. 

• Arizona: Possession and use only (cannot buy) 
• Hawaii: Must apply online for a digital medical card for visitor's valid for 60-days 
• Louisiana: As of 2022 Out-of-state visitors may use their card at a dispensary. The list of qualifying conditions can be found here: https://louisianastatecannabis.org/medical-conditions
• Nevada
• New Jersey:  Visiting patients can get a nonrenewable, six-month MCP card. Out-of-state patients will need to consult with a registered New Jersey health care practitioner who will enroll them in our registry allowing them to register for a card with a current copy of their registration in the home state’s program.

• Puerto Rico
• Rhode Island: Cannot find info on state website

At this point in time, Pennsylvania does not have reciprocity with any other state and you must have a PA-issued medical card to legally buy at a PA dispensary
