John F. Lines, MD

John F. Lines, MD joined Herbal Care Rx in 2020. He is an enthusiastic supporter of her enterprise--to provide affordable high-quality cannabis access to a wide patient population who benefit from this modality of treatment.

Dr. Lines had an early interest in medicine and completed his pre-med courses at Columbia University in New York while earning a BA degree in English Literature. After graduation he returned to his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico to attend medical school at UNM, where he was classmates with Dr Maury. While in medical school he identified with a variety of alternative medical modalities, in particular the nascent psychedelic psychotherapy models of healing. He moved to Philadelphia in 2002 to complete his medical training in Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University's Psychiatry Residency and had continued pursuing his interest in alternative psychiatric treatments. 

He became board certified in Psychiatry in 2007. Since then he has worked full-time as a Community Psychiatrist providing care at a non-profit Mental Health Clinic in South Philadelphia. He has also continued his education in alternative treatment modalities, in particular, completing the training program with MAPS to become a certified provider of MDMA therapy for PTSD when that treatment eventually becomes available. 

Until that day, he continues to be committed to the evidenced-based benefits of cannabis in providing relief for a spectrum of medical and psychiatric conditions. He is proud to be a part of Herbal Care Rx.
