Catherine Birdsall, CRNP

Catherine Birdsall, CRNP is an adult and geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She collaborates with Rebecca Maury, MD to bring informed and compassionate care to the certification process. 

Prior to studying allopathic medicine, Catherine cultivated a lifelong interest in alternative medicine, including earning a certificate in Western Herbalism from The Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in Colorado. 

While continuing to work as an herbalist and apprentice with leaders in the field of clinical herbalism, she became aware that she wanted to broaden her scope of practice in order to help more people. She knew that for her, a marriage of alternative and allopathic medicine was the best way for her to fulfill that goal, so she enrolled in nursing school. 

Following nursing school at Drexel, she pursued additional training to become a nurse practitioner. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a degree as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, and has worked primarily in geriatric medicine with a focus on Palliative and End of Life Care for many years. 

She has continued to cultivate her knowledge and interest in plant medicine while providing care in the western medical model as a CRNP. She has seen how helpful cannabis can be for an array of serious conditions, and the important role it plays in expanding the toolbox of the patient and clinician looking to alleviate pain and suffering. 

Catherine’s certifications are all reviewed and approved by Dr. Maury.
